Again an early start. We started navigating with the light of the full moon which was setting just to left of our right ear and the early dawn just behind the right ear. The sun finally rose over the vineyards and olive trees. We stopped at Puente La Reina to take a picture of the famous bridge. Hunger drove us to the nearest panaderia shop and filled up with bread and cookies. Who says you can't live by bread alone. We then stopped at the church of Santiago to pray for the wellness and happiness of our friends and our journey.
Cirauqui, a splendid hilltop city crying out for pilgrims to savor it's narrow steep uphill streets. There was a reward for those of us early adventures. The smell of freshly cooked bread could not be passed up. We once again filled our larder. Upon leaving the medieval narrow winding streets, the vista of the far off verdant farmland exploded before us.
The plan was to stop at Villatuerta. Joan read about an albergue called the magic house that offered massages. She couldn't wait. Once in town Joan spoke to a woman to ask for directions and learned that it had closed. Often alber have to close due to the lack of volunteers.
Again we had to continue onward 3.7 K to Estella. While looking for WiFi so we could send John our GPS updates we found a restaurant matching our body needs. Beer, large salivatingly gorgeous salad and spaghetti with a fruit desert. There is a dirth of Vegetables to buy at the smaller shops. When ever a salad is offered, news spreads.
Tomorrow we have been encouraged not to get out of our beds till 6am allowing others to sleep. We will be full clothed ready to pounce. We are heading to Irache to fill up our water bottles with wine to aid sore muscles as we head to Los Arcos. Our saga continues.
