Through the kindness of a stranger we found the bus that took us from the airport to the Atocha train station where we changed our internet documents into tickets for tomorrow's train to Pamplona. We then navigated the metro system to Puerto del Sol where we found ourselves in the middle of a beautiful, vibrant, and sunny city. We are staying in a pension run by an elderly couple from the Santiago area. Our lunch consisted of salads of roasted peppers, beefsteak and lettuce and a salad of tuna, anchovies and lettuce qnd peppers, 2 big steins of beer invigorated us for a walk to the Prado. We truly appreciated the wonderful paintings. The entrance fee was free. Perfecto. Tomorrow we take the train to Pamplona and the car trip over the Pyrenees to St. Jean.
